As mentioned, we started out simply doing some small "Secret Angel" types of activities (which I would personally like to get back to). We've done everything from write social commentary to create a realignment plan for the National Football League to run a school for at-risk kids to assisting small business/company owners. Except when we help some businesses and ask for some funding in return, almost all of our services to the general public were completely free of charge. We've been very creative in our funding, as most of the original members hired "experts" to help them make money in the stock market and take part or all of the profits to work on the projects (see OUR UNIQUE FUNDING page). We've also benefited from the generosity of those we have helped in some way by donating time, vehicles, labor, and even housing.
Other examples include helping people get unique mortgage financing - one man had been turned down because of his "foreign status" of income for over 40 years and we got him into his first house in his 70's. We've helped many people find others they could trust for a myriad of reasons, including personal liaisons who help with any situation. We've investigated public issues for consumers and personal issues for individuals. We've even helped people with a philosophy called spiritual patheism. We've acted as a triage for people with any kind of problem or situation...maybe we can't help people directly in many cases but we can try to send them to people and places where they can get answers or help.
Our experiences have included helping businesses with everything from re-vamping the entire business to day-to-day management to sales training to marketing to collections to re-capitalization and exit strategies. By far our most popular and far-reaching program is "Pay It Forward". Take a moment and read about it by pushing the "PAY IT FORWARD" button.
We kept our operating costs within reason by choosing good people and businesses to work with, making effective use of email and internet instead of spending money on expensive office space and other overhead, and gratefully accepting volunteer efforts and donations of time, property, and funding from those who benefit from our work. Keep in mind that we never solicited for money as the stock market funding model was used for that purpose. We just didn't want to automatically turn down anyone who wanted to help in some way.
